Bachata and Merengue Classes

Here, at The Dance Floor, we offer Bachata, Merengue and Pachanga classes too. These dance forms are simple and the syllabus is normally embedded in the SALSA course when you sign up for a longer period or advance levels. However, there are  separate Bachata batches starting almost every three months. When you sign up for the Bahcata course you can expect to learn Dominican  Bachata( concentrated on footwork) , the Urban Bachata( more partner work and combinations) and the Sensual Bachata( more body movement including waves, rolls and sexy styling).
Stay tuned for the next Bachata Batch.

Merengue is the national dance of Dominican Republic. It is simple and easy. The basic technique of Merengue is similar to that of salsa or bachata, except the counting an the stepping. By this we mean the combination you learn in Salsa or Bachata can be integrated in Merengue with a bit of change in the rhythm. It is a soulful and fun dance. Learning and dancing merengue can help you make you Latin hip movement stronger.

Which Dance Form Should I start with?

All the dance forms like SALSA, BACHATA , Merengue etc. from  Latin Dance family compliment it each. It is a matter of personal preference of one dance over the other.

We recommend that you start with Salsa Dancing as it is the most popular and versatile form of dance. The other forms are going to come you ways in forms of special workshops, free classes or you are going to pick them up as you attend more of salsa socials/parties.
